Emergency plumbing, any hour

A burst pipe, a sewer backup or a leaking water heater will not wait for business hours, and neither does CityWide. Call any hour, any day of the year.

What counts as an emergency

If water is where it should not be, or missing where you need it, call.

  • A burst or leaking pipe

Water spraying, a ceiling stain that keeps spreading, or water on the floor.

  • A sewer backup

Water coming up through floor drains, the tub or the toilet, or a sewage smell inside the house.

  • A leaking water heater

Water pooling around the tank, or a tank that is rusting through.

  • No water

No water at any faucet, or no hot water at all.

  • A toilet that will not stop overflowing

Water still rising after you close the valve behind the toilet.

  • A gas smell near the water heater

Leave the house first and call your gas company or 911 from outside. Then call us.

What to do before the plumber arrives

Two shut-offs limit almost any water damage. Find them today, before you need them.

  1. Close the main shut-off

It is usually where the water line enters the house: in a basement, a crawl space, the garage or a utility closet, sometimes near the water heater. Turn a round wheel clockwise, or turn a lever a quarter turn so it sits across the pipe.

  2. Shut off the water heater

Close the cold-water valve on top of the tank. For an electric heater, switch off its breaker; for a gas heater, turn the gas control to Off or Pilot.

  3. Keep people away from the water

Switch off power to wet areas only if you can reach the panel without standing in water.

  4. Call CityWide

    (770) 872‑0867, any hour. Tell us what you shut off and what you are seeing.

Emergency questions

How fast can you get here?

That depends on where you are and on the jobs already under way, so we do not promise a fixed time here. Call (770) 872‑0867 and ask: you will get a straight answer for your address.

Will I get a price before the work starts?

Yes. Even in an emergency, you get a fair, up-front estimate before any work begins.

Should I shut off the water heater too?

If the heater is leaking, or the house water will be off for a while, yes: close its cold-water valve and turn off its power or gas as described above.

Do you handle emergencies at businesses?

Yes. Restaurants, offices, schools and other facilities can call around the clock too.

Water where it should not be? Call now.
